She may be the «Maria sorella» of the Gologorica register — and this archive is calling it an inference, not a fact. At a baptism of 1844 the godparents are entered «Franciscus Defranceschi e MARIA SORELLA», both cives — sister, in Italian, dropped into a Latin entry. (doc for the entry — DAPA ZM34K-214, M01069119, folio 105.)* The argument: she is Maria Aloysia, born 14 August 1811, died 1897, daughter of Josephus and Lambertina — and her brother Franciscus Xaverius Joseph (b. 19 February 1816, d. 4 January 1893) is the only Franciscus this archive can name among the adult Defranceschi of Gologorica in 1844. They are thirty-three and twenty-eight that year, and both belong to the civis household the entry describes.
