The family

No family chart is drawn for this person, and that is a statement about the data rather than about them. This archive records kin against a name — the tree on a name page gathers everyone who shares it, so it may hold one person's dates beside another's wife. Rather than hand a reader a family that might not be this person's, the chart is drawn only where the relationship is recorded person by person, which today means the direct line.

What the archive knows

Married twice in four years, and the register follows her through both. 16 January 1788 — «Zuanne Contossich q.m Pietro contrasse i primi Sponsali per verba de praesenti con Maria figlia del S.r Antonio Defranceschi, ambi di questa Parochia», dispensed from the banns by the Curia of Parenzo, witnessed by Antonio Civitico and Domenico Defranceschi. Svetvinčenat marriages, film 005497886, frame 103, carta 60 (apid `TH-1961-28345-33581-25`). Read 30 September 2026. 30 December 1791 — a widow, remarrying: «… con Maria relita q.m Contossich nata Defranceschi». Svetvinčenat marriages, film 005497886, frames 108 and 109 — a loose slip bound into the volume, photographed twice (apids `TH-1942-28345-33643-55`, `TH-1971-28345-31421-52`). Read 30 September 2026; the entry appears on both exposures. The second entry names her by both her married and her maiden name, which is what locks the two together. (doc for each entry; inf, strongly held, that they are one woman — the parish is small and no second Contossich–Defranceschi couple appears in the thirty-two frames read.) Her father is styled «Signor». That he is the Antonio Defranceschi who led the castle's tenants to their exemption of 1780, and whom frame 93 shows alive in 1783 as «Capo Antonio», fits parish, period and honorific — and is inf, not fact. The register does not say, and there may have been more than one Antonio. Her second husband's name would not resolve and is left unread.
