- Maria di Vittorio Defranceschi (1749) — 1749, Svetvinčenat
«Die 4 8bris, 1749. Maria filia Victorij Defranceschi, et Dominica ejus legitima uxoris, amborum ex hac Parochia, nata die 3 currentis, baptizata fuit a R.do D.no Antonio Stancovich; [patrini] fuere Joannes Fiorasso, ac Dorotea…» — born 3 October, baptised 4 October 1749. Magnified and read letter by letter. Fourth child of Vittorio Defranceschi Godfather 1744 and Dominica ([h115]), after Antonia (1745) and the twins Lucia and Dominico (1748). The household now runs 1745 to 1749 and both parents are «of this parish» throughout. ⚠ A loose slip lies across the tail of the godparent line, so the godmother's surname is unread. This is the third opening in this volume where a slip sits over evidence of the name — the first hid an entire household until the duplicate frame was checked. (doc for the birth and the parents; the godmother is open.) Film 005497885, images 151–162 — Births 1709–1764 of Svetvinčenat, read on the plate 27 September 2026. In no index anywhere.
This archive holds 5 other pages under what Say Your Name reconciles as the same given name in another language — a Latin register, a Venetian clerk, a Croatian village, a Hungarian office. They are not merged and none of them is claimed to be this person: a shared name is not a shared identity, and the archive will not join one to the other by machine. It is here so that a reader looking for a man the records called Josephus can see where they wrote him Josip.

This person has not been written up in an essay yet — most often read straight off a register page that no index anywhere contains. What is known is at the top, and the pages linked above are where the finding sits.
A dossier is every mention of a name anywhere in this archive's data, gathered automatically and linked back to the page it appears on, with what the archive knows about the person set out at the top. Identity here is by NAME, not by resolved individual: where two people share a name they share a dossier, and the archive says so rather than guessing. Rebuilt from the roster, so every person the archive can name has a page — including the ones read straight off a register that no index anywhere contains.
